MyMoodyMac is a Mac menu bar app that shows how your Mac is doing as a mood. It is made by Somewritingapp Studio. It collects nothing: it has no account and no server of ours beyond the one that tells it a new version exists.

What it reads
MyMoodyMac reads your Mac’s own vitals: CPU, memory, disk space and speed, network speed and totals, the active network interface and its IP address, battery, temperatures, fans, power draw, the GPU, and the busiest running apps by name. It shows them on screen and keeps the last minute of readings in memory. None of it is written to disk or sent anywhere.
What it keeps
Your settings: language, pet name, Savage Mode, refresh rate, temperature unit, which modules show, launch at login, and whether to check for updates. They live in your Mac’s standard preferences file and go nowhere.
The update check
Once a day MyMoodyMac asks our update server whether a newer version exists. That request carries the app’s name and version, as any update check does, and your IP address, as any web request does. The optional system profile that update checkers can send is switched off. You can turn the check off in Settings › About.
The download itself comes from the same server. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which records requests, including IP addresses, for a short period to deliver files and absorb attacks. We do not read those records or connect them to anything else.
What we are told
Nothing. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no account.
Permissions
MyMoodyMac does not ask for access to your files, contacts, location, camera or microphone.
If you write to us
When you email us, we have your message and the address you sent it from. It sits in our mailbox with our mail provider. We keep support correspondence for about two years, then delete it. We do not add you to any list.
This website
No cookies. No analytics. No third-party requests — the fonts and images on these pages are served from this domain.
Like every website, this one is served by a host, and that host records requests, including your IP address, for a short period to deliver pages and absorb attacks. We do not read those records or connect them to anything else.
Your rights
For the app there is nothing to request: nothing about you leaves your Mac. For email, write to the address below and we will delete our copy.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
