WeirdSnap is a Mac menu bar app for taking screenshots cut into shapes. It is made by Somewritingapp Studio. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

All policies
The short version
WeirdSnap does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Everything the app does happens on your Mac. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
Screen captures
WeirdSnap needs macOS Screen Recording permission to take screenshots. It only captures the screen when you start a capture, either from the menu bar or with a shortcut you set yourself. It never records in the background.
Each capture is processed on your Mac and stays there. It is never uploaded anywhere. A capture leaves your Mac only if you send it yourself, by saving it, copying it, or dragging it into another app.
Temporary files
When you drag a capture into another app, WeirdSnap writes a temporary PNG file inside its own sandboxed container. WeirdSnap deletes these files automatically after about an hour, and again each time it launches.
Clipboard
WeirdSnap writes to your clipboard only when you click Copy, or when you have turned on “Copy to clipboard automatically.” It never reads your clipboard.
Settings
Your preferences stay on your Mac in the app’s standard macOS settings storage. These include Sticker Mode, border width, your shortcut, the last shape you used, and whether the app launches at login. They are not synced or sent anywhere by WeirdSnap.
No accounts, analytics, or tracking
WeirdSnap has no accounts, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or third-party SDKs. It does not track you across apps or websites, and it makes no network connections.
Apple
Apple, not us, handles your purchase and download of WeirdSnap from the Mac App Store, under Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you have chosen to share crash data or usage data with developers in macOS, Apple may pass along anonymous reports. Those reports contain no captures.
Children
WeirdSnap collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
